To remove gnats from your houseplants using Talking Soil, follow these steps:
1. Let the Soil Dry Between Watering
Gnats thrive in moist soil. Reduce watering and allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out completely before the next watering. Talking Soil, being a well-aerated growing medium, helps retain moisture while preventing excessive dampness.
2. Use Talking Soil as a Top Layer
Replace the top layer of your plant’s soil with Talking Soil. This discourages gnats from laying eggs, as Talking Soil provides a less hospitable environment for larvae.

3. Apply Neem Oil or Cinnamon
Sprinkle cinnamon powder or mix a few drops of neem oil into the Talking Soil layer. Both act as natural fungicides and insect repellents, disrupting the gnats’ life cycle.
4. Introduce Yellow Sticky Traps
Place yellow sticky traps near your plants to catch adult gnats and prevent further reproduction.
5. Use a Hydrogen Peroxide Solution
Mix one part hydrogen peroxide (3%) with four parts water and use it for watering. This kills larvae in the soil but is safe for plants.
6. Repot with Fresh Talking Soil
If the infestation persists, consider repotting your plant using fresh Talking Soil. This will eliminate any lingering larvae and provide a healthier medium for your plant.
